The Philippines Women’s U-23 Team lost its first game against Iran in four set in the 1st Asian U23 Women’s Volleyball Championship on Friday afternoon at the Philsport Arena (Ultra).
Team Captain Alyssa Valdez exploded 31
points, injured right hand in the 2nd set after a block, but still
unable to win against Iran with 25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 25-20 win.
The Philippines can’t take over close first
two set but still Iran dominates with big blocks from the Iranians.
In the third set, Philippines fires 13
attacks and four aces to force a four set
Fourth set belongs to Iran as they take
19-10 advantage against the Philippines as they face their first lost with
25-20 win.
Mahsa Saberi, team captain, led Iran
scored 16 points while Mahsa Kadkhoda with 14 points including match point.
